Matic to leave Man United in January?

Manchester United have made it clear that they have no intention of handing a new contract to Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic.

The 31-year-old has been a regular over the past two seasons for the club but his gametime has reduced this term with the likes of Scott McTominay, Fred, Paul Pogba and Andreas Pereira ahead of him in the pecking order.

As a result, he has been widely tipped to head through the exit door in the New Year and The Express claims that the Red Devils are unlikely to encourage him to stay by rewarding him with a fresh deal.

Matic's current contract is scheduled to expire at the end of the current campaign but the club are expected to trigger a 12-month extension clause at the beginning of January to preserve his transfer value.

AC Milan and Inter Milan are interested in landing his services from the Serie A while he is also said to be catching the attention of Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
