Michy Batshuayi decides on his Chelsea future ahead of the New Year
Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has decided to stay put with the Blues for the season rather than pushing for a January departure from the club.
The Belgium has played second fiddle to Tammy Abraham for the centre-forward role this term and he has managed each of his 12 league appearances from the bench.
As a result, there has been the speculation that he could consider a fresh challenge next month but Football.London claims that the marksman is prepared to remain patient for the remainder of the campaign.
Olivier Giroud has got the nod for a starting spot in the Premier League ahead of Batshuayi on a couple of occasions this season but the Frenchman is widely expected to head through the exit door.
The Blues don't have an immediate replacement in mind and they are likely to stick with Batshuayi for the campaign before assessing their striking options during next summer's transfer window.
Batshuayi has netted five goals for the Blues in all competitions. He has, however, drawn blank in the past 10 games for the club, where he has come off the bench.
