Manchester United planning fresh move for £50m midfielder
Manchester United are reportedly planning a renewed approach to sign Sead Longstaff from Newcastle United during the ongoing transfer window.
The 22-year-old was heavily linked with the Red Devils last summer but a deal did not materialise after they are unwilling to meet the Magpies' £50m valuation.
According to Standard Sport, the Red Devils are said to be planning a fresh move this month following a long-term knee injury for Scott McTominay while Paul Pogba is also expected to be on the sidelines for an ankle surgery.
This has left the Red Devils with just two senior midfielders in the form of Fred and Nemanja Matic and the latter has been largely inconsistent with his displays for the club.
Newcastle are still said to be reluctant to reduce their price tag for their graduate and it remains to be seen whether United are willing to meet the package this time around, given their midfield injury crisis.
