Manchester United eyeing deal for Portuguese midfielder?
Manchester United are reportedly plotting an ambitious approach to sign midfielder Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers during the current transfer window.
The Portugal international has been a consistent performer for the Wolves over the past two-and-a-half seasons and in the current campaign, he has already made 31 appearances in all competitions.
According to Goal.com, the Red Devils are keen on recruiting a new central midfielder this month and they have their sights on Neves, who fits their requirement for a young and ambitious player.
United are without Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay due to injury setbacks and reports have emerged that neither of them could be available for the next two months.
Neves would ideally suit United's midfield where he could partner Fred but it is unclear whether Wolves would even consider the sale of the Portuguese, given they have a good chance of making the top four this season.
Wolves are presently six points behind Chelsea in the race for the final Champions League spot. They recently played out a 0-0 draw against Manchester United in the FA Cup third round which has enforced a replay.
