Tottenham enter transfer race for Ligue 1 midfielder
Tottenham have submitted an offer for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, claims the Daily Mail.
The report adds that Spurs are ready to battle for the French midfielder, who has also been closely watched by a string of Europe’s elites including Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Soumare turns out to be one of the hottest prospects in Europe following his eye-opening campaign in Ligue 1 this term. The 20-year-old plays primarily as a holding midfielder.
It is also added that Spurs have the edge over others in the pursuit of French U-21 star due to the reason that Jose Mourinho’s current assistant Sacramento worked with the midfielder during his time as a makeshift manager for Lille in 2017.
The North London side’s decline has been evident in recent times following their inability to win any of their last four games, which saw them go behind Sheffield United in the Premier League table.
Spurs have recently captured the likes of Gedson Fernandes on a loan deal from Benfica.
