Liverpool identify Serie A star as Isco alternative

Liverpool have reportedly turned their head towards Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz, according to the Daily Mail.
The report states that the Reds have had an offer worth £47m turned down by Real Madrid for their playmaker, which has now forced them to change their direction towards the Serie A star.
Ruiz has been slightly off-colour this season, as he has racked up only a goal and two assists in 18 outings. It is mainly due to the fact that the Spaniard has been played out of position – as a holding midfielder – by the new manager Gennaro Gattuso.
The 23-year-old is also said to be a summer target for La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Liverpool are now looking to bolster their midfield options, and have found the ex-Real Betis star as an opt one to do so.
The Merseyside club holds the reputation for making some productive signings, having recently added the highly-talented Takumi Minamino to their squad.
Jurgen Klopp’s men extended their fairytale run in Premier League after the 2-1 win over Wolves.
