Chelsea defender on RB Leipzig radar

RB Leipzig are reportedly eyeing a move for Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen, according to Football London.

The report adds that the Bundesliga leaders, who recently snapped up the Blues target Dani Olmo, are plotting a £25.3 million move for Christensen. He has also been linked with the likes of AC Milan and Barcelona in the past.

The English centre-back hasn’t yet cemented his place in the starting line-up under Frank Lampard, making only 11 Premier League appearances this season.

Leipzig cite the 23-year-old as the replacement for coveted centre-back Dayot Upamecano, should the French man opt for an exit in the transfer window. The French defender has been chased by a plethora of top European clubs including the likes of Barcelona, Bayern, Manchester United and Arsenal.

The Blues are yet to open their account in the on-going transfer window, having had their transfer ban overturned.

Frank Lampard’s men have suffered a dip in their performances of late, winning only two of their last six Premier League outings.
