PSG outcast Edinson Cavani to snub Atletico Madrid transfer?
PSG outcast Edinson Cavani has reportedly decided to stay in France amidst the transfer interest from Atletico Madrid.
The Uruguayan was earlier touted to make a move to Wanda Metropolitano in January transfer window, but he appears to have changed his decision.
The report adds that the contract talks between both the parties have fallen through after Atletico failed to meet PSG's quoted fee of £25m for Cavani.
The 32-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel and he has made only 9 appearances this season, finding the net only twice.
Furthermore, Mauro Icardi has chipped in well during Cavani’s absence, scoring 17 goals for the Ligue 1 giants in all competitions.
This led to transfer interest from top clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea as the ex Napoli star’s contract runs out this summer.
Meanwhile, the Parisians are eyeing a move for Arsenal forward Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, who appears reluctant in signing a contract extension. His current deal ends in June 2021.
