United want another striker in the summer

Manchester United will reportedly recruit another striker on a long-term deal when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign.

The Red Devils signed Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua on loan on deadline day and the deal does not include the option to buy in the summer.

United will of course revisit the loan deal for the Nigerian if he impresses but the club are still keen on landing another top-class striker when the transfer window reopens.

According to Evening Standard, the Red Devils are likely to move for a new centre-forward, who can command a regular starting role and serve the club on a long-term basis.

Alexis Sanchez will definitely return to Old Trafford when his loan deal with Inter Milan concludes in the summer but the Chilean is not regarded as someone with a future in the striker's position.

United are presently working with Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood with Marcus Rashford out injured with a back problem. Ighalo has yet to report to the club due to the clearance required for him to fly from China.
