Barcelona to rival Real Madrid for Ligue 1 striker in summer

Barcelona are reportedly eyeing a summer move for LOSC Lille striker Victor Osimhen, according to French outlet Le10Sport.

The report states that Barca alongside their arch-rivals Real Madrid have made contact with the Ligue 1 side regarding the availability of the Nigerian prospect at the very end of the winter transfer window.

Osimhen is one of the coveted strikers in Europe at present following his breakthrough season in Ligue 1,  racking up 11 goals and three assists in 21 outings. He is also reportedly on the transfer radar of Premier League giants including the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham.

Barca decided not to sign any striker in the recently-concluded transfer exchange despite the dire need to replace their talisman Luis Suarez, who will be out for the rest of the season due to knee surgery.

Even though there was a bevy of players on Blaugrana’s transfer radar, none of the deals came into fruition.

Quique Setien’s men are currently trailing Los Blancos by three points in the La Liga table.
