Juventus are reportedly plotting a huge summer move for Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, according to The Sun.

The report states that Bianconeri are preparing a world-record transfer worth £150m for the Dutch centre-back, which would make him the expensive defender in history.

Van Dijk himself joined the Merseyside outfit for a reported fee of  £75m in 2018, making him as their all-time expensive player.

It is also said that the 28-year-old would also love to seek an exit from Anfield, having won a handful of trophies with the Reds – mainly the Champions League glory – while the Premier League trophy is on the cards this season.

Besides, the 28-year-old also won the FIFA Men’s player of 2019 award and also ended up second in the Ballon d’Or just behind Lionel Messi.

Having previously bought Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid and Ajax’s Matthijs de Light for expensive fees, Juve are now looking to add the Netherlands skipper to their repertoire. Van Dijk’s contract with the Reds ends in 2023.
