Manchester United favourites to sign Kalidou Koulibaly

Manchester United are reportedly regarded as the favourites to land the signature of Kalidou Koulibaly, who is expected to part ways with Napoli after six seasons.

The Senegal international has been linked with a Premier League move over the past few years but the centre-back has regularly stated that he would prefer to win the Serie A title with Napoli before pursuing a fresh challenge.

That seems unlikely to happen in the near future with the club due to go through a transition and Il Mattino claims that the Red Devils are in the driving seat to sign him in the summer.

Koulibaly has also attracted interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the past but United are said to hold the advantage with the £100m asking price likely to prove steep for their Premier League rivals to match.

Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire have been the regular combination at the heart of the United defence this term but the club are said to be evaluating the former's performances which have been inconsistent.
