Chelsea winning the race to sign 23-year-old goalkeeper
Chelsea have reportedly emerged as favourites to land the signature of goalkeeper Andre Onana from Ajax during the summer transfer window.
The Blues have had Kepa Arrizabalaga as the first-choice goalkeeper this term but he was recently dropped from the starting lineup by Frank Lampard after a few mistakes between the sticks.
According to Voetbal Nieuws, Lampard is keen on landing a new shot-stopper in the summer and wants the Blues to sanction the sale of Arrizabalaga when the season concludes.
It is added that the west London giants are well placed to land the signature of the ex-La Masia graduate Onana, who is valued at around £34m by the reigning Dutch champions.
Onana has racked more than 150 appearances for Ajax since his move from Barcelona five years ago. He was influential towards their run to the Champions League semi-final phase last term.
Apart from Chelsea, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest but reports claim that the Cameroon international prefers a move to Stamford Bridge.
