Chelsea confirm their first summer signing
Chelsea have officially confirmed that they have reached an agreement to sign Hakim Ziyech from Ajax during this summer's transfer window.
The Blues have agreed on an initial £33m fee for the Dutchman's services and the deal will go through, provided Ziyech agrees to personal terms.
"Chelsea Football Club has reached an agreement with Ajax to sign Hakim Ziyech this summer," read a statement on the Blues' official website.
Ziyech has notched eight goals and 21 assists for Ajax this term and that has helped them gain a slender lead over AZ Alkmaar in the league standings.
He has been on the radar of several high-profile clubs in recent months but the Blues have won the race after engaging in transfer talks from December.
The west London side have made no new signings over the past two transfer windows and Ziyech could be one of many high-profile players arriving at the club this summer.
The move for Ziyech is likely to end the Blues' pursuit of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund due to the hefty £120m price tag set by the Bundesliga outfit.
