Pogba to leave United on the cheap?

Manchester United could be forced to offload Paul Pogba on a cut-price deal in the summer with Real Madrid reluctant to offer more than £50m for his services.

Both Madrid and Juventus have been credited with an interest in signing Pogba and they are aware that the midfielder wants to head through the Old Trafford exit door this summer.

According to The Mail, Zinedine Zidane's side will make an approach to land the World Cup winner in five months' time but they are unlikely to pay anything more than £50m for his signature.

United have obviously lowered their asking price from £148m to £83m but they face the prospect of accepting a much lesser fee for a player, who is reluctant to consider a new deal.

Solskjaer's side can extend Pogba's contract until the summer of 2022 with an extension clause available but they are said to be concerned by the fact that the Frenchman is determined to part ways with the side.

Pogba is currently in rehabilitation after an ankle surgery and he is primed to make his comeback in the middle of March. He has made just seven league appearances this term due to regular ankle injury concerns.
