Both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are keeping a close eye on the progress made by young Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli.

The 18-year-old only made the switch to the Gunners from Ituano last summer but he has made a strong impression by contributing 10 goals and two assists in all competitions.

According to The Star, both Madrid and Les Parisiens are tracking the development of the Brazil youth international ahead of possible bids for his services during the summer transfer window.

Martinelli has more than four years remaining on his existing deal with the north London side but reports claim that the Gunners 'secretly fear' that they could lose him unless they secure Champions League football for next term.

The youngster has been unused substitute in recent Premier League matches where Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have slotted into the wide attacking positions.

He could return for the Gunners when they entertain Olympiacos in the second leg of the Europa League round of 32 clash on Thursday night. Mikel Arteta's side have a 1-0 advantage from the away leg.
