Lazio have are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Lyon star Memphis Depay.

The Dutch forward is currently on the recovery road after sustaining an ACL injury last year.

According to the Sun, Lazio want the former Manchester United star to bolster their squad and believe they can prise him away with his contract expiring in 2021.

The report also adds that the Dutch winger has been earmarked as the ideal strike partner for marksman Ciro Immobile, who is currently leading the race for the European Golden Boot.

Simone Inzaghi has so far rotated both Felipe Caicedo and Joaquin Correa to team up with Immobile this season.

Depay has become a pivotal figure for Les Gones since joining them in 2017, scoring more than 50 goals.

Before his injury, the 26-year-old was in sublime touch, racking up nine goals and two assists in Ligue 1 this term.

Inzaghi's side have been phenomenal in the Italian top flight this season as they have leapfrogged Juventus and Inter Milan to the first place on the table.

The Italian manager prefers a two-striker formation. Depay is accustomed to such system under Lyon’s current manager, Rudi Garcia
