Pep Guardiola provides fresh injury update on Kevin de Bruyne

Guardiola unsure over De Bruyne's involvement vs Arsenal

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has provided an update on the fitness of Kevin de Bruyne ahead of the club's Premier League clash against Arsenal on Wednesday.

The Belgian has missed the past couple of games in all competitions with a shoulder problem but he was present in the full training session on Monday.

Speaking in a press conference, Guardiola revealed that De Bruyne has resumed training with his teammates but refused to confirm whether he would be involved against the Gunners.

"Kevin (has been) training the last two days but I don't know if he'll be able to play tomorrow," he was quoted as saying by the club's official website.

The Cityzens suffered their seventh defeat of the Premier League season with a 2-1 loss to Manchester United last weekend and Guardiola will be hoping for a strong response in the upcoming fixture.

De Bruyne has obviously been the most influential player at the club this term but Guardiola may not take a risk with his fitness, particularly with the Cityzens due to host Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 next week.

The Mancunian giants are holding a 2-1 advantage after the first leg at the Bernabeu and they will need their best players available in order to beat Los Blancos and reach the quarter-final phase.
