Manchester United favourites to sign Swiss midfielder?

Manchester United are reportedly regarded as the favourites to land the signature of Denis Zakaria from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer.

The Swiss midfielder has been consistent in the centre of the park for the German side this term and his performances have caught the eye of several Premier League sides including Arsenal and Chelsea.

However, according to Sky Germany, the Red Devils are the front-runners to sign the Switzerland international and they are weighing up a possible bid for his signature.

United have recently taken the option of renewing Nemanja Matic's contract for another year after witnessing the Serbian put up a string of top-notch displays.

Still, Solskjaer seems keen on reinforcing the midfield department in the summer, particularly with both Andreas Pereira and Paul Pogba tipped to head through the exit door.

Zakaria has contributed two goals and two assists for Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga. He has just over two years remaining on his contract and that will tempt the German side to cash in on his services.
