Manchester United will reportedly need to pay a fee of around £15m in order to secure the permanent signing of Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua.

Ighalo made the switch to the Red Devils on a four-month loan in January and he has since impressed in the Cup competitions where he has scored four goals and registered one assist.

United are already in talks to extend Ighalo's loan contract for another month with the season set to extend beyond May 31 due to the coronavirus pandemic delay.

And The Mail reports that the club will sign the striker on a permanent basis thereafter. Shenhua are expected to demand around £15m to part ways with the marksman.

United have been hampered with untimely injuries this term but the ongoing suspension could work in their favour. Paul Pogba has already recovered after his ankle surgery while Marcus Rashford could also make his comeback.

Rashford has been out of contention since sustaining a double stress fracture against Wolves in January. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has previously indicated that the forward could return to first-team action in May.
