Charlie Nicholas states Everton should sign Celtic star
Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas has said that the Gunners may not benefit from the signing of Odsonne Edouard but the Frenchman could still make the move to the Premier League with a club like Everton.
Edouard has had a splendid season with Celtic and he has already amassed 27 goals and 19 assists from 45 appearances across all competitions.
As a result, he has been touted to make the switch to the Premier League and reports have linked him with the Gunners, who could be eyeing a replacement for contract rebel Aubameyang.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Nicholas has said that the Gunners can't afford to run out Aubameyang's contract which expires in 15 months' time and they will have to renew it.
He added that he does not fancy Edouard making the move to the Emirates Stadium but his qualities could suit the Toffees, who are eyeing another high-profile striker ahead of next season.
"I just do not think Arsenal can afford to let Aubameyang's contract run out, so they will have to renew it. Despite that, I do not see the Edouard to Arsenal link materialising," he told.
"I could certainly see him moving to the Premier League. He could be more suitable to Everton if they build their team in the right way. I have watched them quite a bit this season."
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has impressed as the main striker for the Toffees with 15 goals this term but there has basically been no competition with last summer's signing Moise Kean turning out as a flop.
