Chelsea looking to sign £50m-rated England star

Chelsea will reportedly seek to land the signature of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City when the transfer window reopens later in the year.

The Blues are likely to land a new left-back during the summer with the futures of Marcos Alonso and Emerson continuing to remain uncertain.

The latter has recently been linked with a possible return to Italy and Frank Lampard appears keen on making a high-profile addition for the role.

According to The Mail, Chilwell continues to remain the priority target for the Blues but they face fierce competition from league rivals Manchester City.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has affected the transfer values of different players but the Foxes are still expected to demand around £50m for Chilwell's sale this summer.

Aside from a left-back, Lampard is said to be eyeing a new striker, centre-back and an attacking midfielder. Philippe Coutinho has recently been tipped to fulfil the latter of those positions.
