Arsenal in advanced talks to sign £15m defender

Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Reims defender Axel Disasi.

The Frenchman has been pivotal to Reims sublime defensive record in Ligue 1 where they have conceded just 21 goals from 28 matches.

As a result, the centre-back has attracted interest from several European sides but the Gunners are leading the race to acquire his services, The Mail claims.

Furthermore, it is stated that he could be available for around £15m with his existing deal with Reims due to expire at the end of next season.

Sokratis has been linked with a possible exit at the end of the campaign and his departure could cover up the funds required for Disasi's purchase.

Aside from Sokratis, the futures of Shkodran Mustafi and Dinos Mavropanos remain under question despite the fact that the former has redeemed himself under Mikel Arteta.

Mustafi has been in impressive form under the guidance of Arteta but there are still concerns over his consistency over an extended period of time. The German's contract expires in the summer of 2021.
