Inter regain Serie A lead

Goals from Patrick Vieira and Mario Balotelli helped Inter Milan to an excellent 2-0 victory over Atalanta away from home in Serie A on Sunday. Roma's victory had cut the gap to just a point, but the win over Atalanta has seen them regain their four point lead.

Vieira's 21st minute header was put Inter Milan in front, but there was some air of controversy after the Frenchman used Atalanta defender Maximilano Pellegrino as a ladder to rise highest to put the visitors in front.

17 year old youngster 'Super' Mario Balotelli finished off Atalanta as he rounded the keeper to slot the ball home to increase Inter's lead.

There was enough time for some more controversy however, as Atalanta legend Cristiano Doni found himself sent off.

Afterwards Roberto Mancini quipped: "It was a good game on a difficult pitch against an in-form team. My men did not leave too much room for Atalanta and Vieira scored a great goal.

"Balotelli is very young and he doesn't have too many worries, so it was natural for him to play a good game."
