Spanish attacker hopeful of landing new Chelsea deal
Spanish winger Pedro remains hopeful of extending his stay with Chelsea beyond the ongoing campaign, a report from ESPN claims.
The 32-year-old's current deal expires on June 30 but the Blues are likely to keep him contracted until the end of the season.
According to ESPN, Pedro has plenty of offers from overseas clubs but he would prefer to remain with the Blues next term.
The west London side have yet to make a contract offer but he is hoping for a late change of heart from the Capital outfit to prolong his stay.
The former Barcelona star has struggled to cement a regular role this term and he has made only eight starts in the Premier League to date.
Frank Lampard has plans of building a young squad with a view to long-term success but he is still keen on having experienced faces in the side.
Of late, Napoli's Dries Mertens has been fancied to join the club. He has been earmarked as a probable replacement for Pedro.
