Manchester United and Arsenal to compete for French striker

Alassane Plea news

United, Arsenal interested in Plea

Manchester United and Arsenal could go head-to-head to land the signature of Alassane Plea from Borussia Monchengladbach this summer.

The Frenchman is currently in his second season with the Bundesliga side where he has caught the eye with nine goals and seven assists in the league.

According to SportBILD, both United and Gunners have been keeping a close watch on the forward's displays this term and the duo could potentially compete for his services when the season concludes.

Monchengladbach are currently focused in their bid to secure Champions League football but reports claim that they could accept offers in excess of £30m for the marksman this summer.

United are said to be eyeing a competitor to Anthony Martial upfront ahead of next season. Meanwhile, the Gunners are looking at a possible frontline addition with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang yet to sign a new deal.

The Gabon international has only 13 months remaining on his existing contract and so far, he has shown no intention to put pen-to-paper on a new long-term deal.
