Arsenal confident of agreeing deal with teenage sensation
Arsenal are confident of committing Bukayo Saka to a new long-term contract, a report from Football.London claims.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a superb breakthrough season with the Gunners and he has registered three goals and nine assists across all competitions.
The majority of his appearances have come from an unfamiliar left-back role in the injury absence of Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac and that has further raised his reputation as a player.
In recent weeks, there have been doubts whether the club could be compelled to sell Saka during the summer transfer window, given his current contract is due to expire at the end of next season.
However, those fears have been dismissed by Football.London's James Benge, who reports that the Gunners are confident of negotiating a new and improved contract with the teenager.
Saka earns only £5000-a-week from his existing deal. He is expected to receive a significant increase on his salary when he puts pen-to-paper on a new contract.
