Manchester City are reportedly looking into a summer deal for Leonardo Bonucci with manager Pep Guardiola aiming to add more experience at the heart of the club's defence.

The Juventus star was the subject of interest from the Cityzens four years ago but he declined to join them due to the health concerns of his son.

Bonucci made the shock move to AC Milan 12 months later, but he only spent one season with the Rossoneri before returning to the Turin giants.

According to Calciomercato, the Cityzens are keen on landing an experienced centre-back with concerns over the displays of John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi.

Guardiola has identified Bonucci as his primary target but it is reported that the Bianconeri have no desire to part ways with the 33-year-old centre-back this summer.

Bonucci is currently in his second season back at the Bianconeri and he has had a solid campaign where he has made 34 appearances for the club in all competitions.

The defender has more than four years remaining on his existing deal with the Bianconeri and the club are in a strong position to reject any offers for his services.
