Manchester City join Chelsea in the race to sign Premier League star
Manchester City are prepared to go head-to-head with Chelsea in the race to sign Leicester City's Ben Chilwell during the summer transfer window.
The England international has been on the radar of the Blues over the past 12 months and the club are said to have recently opened talks with the Foxes for the left-back.
However, it appears that they could face competition in the form of the Cityzens, whose manager Pep Guardiola is looking for a new option on the left side of the defence, The Guardian reports.
The Cityzens currently have Benjamin Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko as choices for the left-back spot and they are expected to see the return of Angelino following his short-term loan at Leipzig.
Zinchenko and Angelino are likely to head through the exit door on a permanent basis this summer and that would provide the Cityzens additional funds to push for Chilwell's signature.
The Foxes are expected to demand at least £60m for Chilwell's sale.
