Manchester United midfielder agrees fresh five-year deal
Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has been rewarded with a new five-year contract following his impressive progress with the club.
The Scotland international was one of the Red Devils' standout performers during the first half of the season before he picked up a knee injury in late December.
He made his comeback in superb fashion with a late cameo goal in the Manchester derby in March, but the season was temporarily suspended thereafter due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Earlier last week, United resumed their season with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on the road and McTominay was preferred in the holding midfield role ahead of Fred.
That has shown the trust in his ability from the manager and McTominay has expressed his delight after putting pen-to-paper on a new contract until June 2025.
"I want to thank the manager for the faith he has shown in me and everyone at the club that has helped me to get where I am today," he told the club's official website.
