David Ornstein provides fresh contract update on Bukayo Saka
The Athletic reporter David Ornstein has revealed that Arsenal are on the cusp of finalising a new long-term contract for Bukayo Saka.
The Gunners have been in regular talks with Saka and his entourage over a new deal and manager Mikel Arteta recently said that he is confident that the teenager will extend his stay.
Saka's current deal expires at the end of next season, but it has been reported by Ornstein that the player will put pen-to-paper on a new-and-improved contract this week.
Saka has made 33 appearances in a fantastic breakthrough season where he has bagged three goals and 10 assists. He has played in multiple positions on the playing field including the left-back spot.
He has started every game for the club since the season restart after the coronavirus break. The 18-year-old should make the starting lineup when the Gunners host Norwich City at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
Arsenal are currently 10th on the table with 43 points on the board.
