Liverpool in advanced talks to sign Spanish midfielder
Liverpool are reportedly in advanced negotiations with Bayern Munich to land the signature of Thiago Alcantara.
The Spaniard has been with the Bavarian giants for the past seven years but it appears that he is set for a fresh challenge away from the club.
He has already declined to sign a new contract beyond next season and Sport claims that the Reds have already made the move to sign him.
Bayern are said to demand a fee of around £32m for the former Barcelona man and reports claim that the Reds are hoping to reduce the transfer sum.
In case, they are unable to do so, it is reported that they could negotiate the option of paying the fee over an extended period of time.
Alcantara has seen limited gametime since the season resumption because of a groin injury, but he has returned to training ahead of the DFB-Pokal Cup final.
He is expected to remain with the German champions until the end of their Champions League campaign in August, regardless of where he plays next season.
