Liverpool boss gives the go-ahead to sign Spanish star
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly urged the club's hierarchy to prioritise the signing of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich this summer.
The Reds have not made any marquee signings over the past 18 months and there are suggestions that their spending could be restricted amid the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Still, they are likely to make at least one or two changes to the squad ahead of next season and it is widely known that Alcantara is one of the names on their radar.
The Spaniard is set to leave the German champions after declining to sign a fresh deal beyond June 2021 and Bild claims that Klopp is eager to secure the player's services.
The Reds currently face competition from fierce rivals Manchester United for the 29-year-old and Klopp wants the Reds to get a deal over the line as soon as possible.
Bayern are likely to demand around £32m for Alcantara's exit.
