Mikel Arteta confident of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stay
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has said that he is confident over the club's prospects of extending the contract of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang's current deal with the Gunners expires in June next year and he has yet to agree to commit to a new long-term contract.
As a result, there has been much speculation regarding his future, but Arteta is positive about prolonging the stay of Aubameyang at the club.
"I don't know, to put a date right now is very difficult. I like the way the conversations are going, I like what I'm hearing," He told via Sky Sports.
"I'm sure for both parties, the quicker we can do it, the better for everyone. I am confident he will extend his stay."
Aubameyang has registered 25 goals for the north London giants this term and he has been the standout performer in their attack.
He recently bagged a brace in the 2-0 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final. The club will face Chelsea in the final next month.
