Arsenal star still hopeful of Barcelona transfer
Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains hopeful of making the switch to Barcelona during this summer's transfer window.
The 31-year-old has been in fine form for the north Londoners this term and he has bagged 25 goals form 42 appearances in all competitions.
Aubameyang's current deal with the Gunners expires at the end of next season and so far, he has been reluctant to put pen-to-paper on a fresh deal.
According to Sport, the Gabon international is still hopeful of completing a summer move to the Camp Nou and that is the reason behind his standoff.
The Catalan giants have earmarked Lautaro Martinez as their main target to strengthen the final third of the field, but Aubameyang is being considered as an alternate option.
Meanwhile, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta recently said that he is confident that Aubameyang will sign a new deal and it remains to be seen whether the club can make the breakthrough in the negotiations.
Aubameyang has netted 20 goals in the Premier League this term.
