Chelsea make Tagliafico bid

Chelsea have reportedly made a formal bid of around €25m (£23m) to land the signature of Nicolas Tagliafico from Ajax.

The west London giants are keen on pursuing a new left-back this summer as they are prepared to part ways with either Marcos Alonso or Emerson ahead of next season.

Leicester City's Ben Chilwell has been frequently linked with a move to Stamford Bridge but it appears that the Blues have been put off by the Foxes £80m price tag.

Hence, they are looking at alternative options and Mundo Deportivo claims that the club have launched a £23m bid for Tagliafico, who is also on the radar of Atletico Madrid and Manchester City.

Tagliafico has a verbal agreement to leave Ajax this summer after he previously decided against leaving the club last summer. Aside from the Argentine, Donny van de Beek is also expected to head for the exit door.

Frank Lampard's side have already landed the services of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner this summer and they are currently in advanced negotiations to sign Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz.
