Arsenal close to sealing loan deal for Spanish midfielder

Dani Ceballos news

Ceballos set to extend Arsenal loan stay?

Arsenal are reportedly on the cusp of agreeing a fresh loan deal for midfielder Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid.

The Spaniard joined the Gunners on a temporary basis from Los Blancos last summer and over the course of the season, he has registered 35 appearances in all competitions.

Ceballos' loan deal expires shortly after the Gunners' FA Cup final, but according to AS, the Gunners have already started negotiations to extend the midfielder's temporary stay.

It is added that Los Blancos have not received any permanent offers for the former Real Betis man and hence, they are very likely to accept the Gunners' loan bid.

Ceballos has been a regular starter under Mikel Arteta since the winter break this year and he has formed an impressive partnership alongside Granit Xhaka at the heart of the midfield.

Arteta has personally revealed that he would like to work with Ceballos next term. The 23-year-old has registered two goals and two assists and that includes the winner in the FA Cup quarter-final against Sheffield United.
