Chelsea boss provides fitness update on three first-team stars
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that both N'Golo Kante and Willian are in contention for the FA Cup final against Arsenal, but Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been ruled out.
Kante has not played a competitive game for more than a month because of a hamstring problem while Willian missed the recent game against Wolves with a minor injury.
Both players have reported to training ahead of the FA Cup final and Lampard has hinted that a late fitness test may determine whether they make the starting XI.
"N’Golo Kante and Willian are in the squad so we’ll see if they’re fit to be in the starting 11," he was quoted as saying by Chelseafc.com.
Meanwhile, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has unfortunately picked up a minor injury in training and he is set to miss his second successive final with the Blues after the Europa League final last year.
"Ruben Loftus-Cheek has a small problem he picked up yesterday so he’s out of the game," Lampard further told in the press conference.
Chelsea are aiming to win the FA Cup for the ninth time in their history. They have faced Arsenal in the competition's final in two previous occasions where they have been on the losing side.
