Tottenham Hotspur enter Said Benrahma race
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined Chelsea in the race to sign Said Benrahma from Championship side Brentford.
The Algeria international enjoyed a splendid 2019/2020 season as he registered 17 goals and 10 assists for the Bees from 46 appearances.
Despite his efforts, the west London side were unable to seal top-flight promotion and he is expected to head for the exit door during the ongoing transfer window.
Chelsea have been regularly linked with his services in recent weeks, but according to The Mirror, they are set to face competition from cross-town rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Benrahma was previously valued at around £25m, but it is reported that his price could come down to £16m after the Bees' failure to secure Premier League promotion.
Aside from the duo, Aston Villa, West Ham United, Leicester City and Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest in Benrahma, who was previously in the ranks of Nice.
Meanwhile, Ollie Watkins is another Brentford player, who has been tipped to head to the Premier League. The 24-year-old bagged 26 goals in the Championship last term. He has a release clause of £18m in his contract.
