Manchester United to sign Premier League centre-back?

Manchester United are reportedly one of the clubs in the running to sign Issa Diop from West Ham United this summer.

The Red Devils are on the search for a new centre-back this summer with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said to be unconvinced with the performances of Victor Lindelof alongside Harry Maguire.

According to Sky Sports, the club have been linked with a move for Hammers defender Issa Diop, who could be available for a fee of around £45m.

The Frenchman has been with the east London outfit for the past two seasons, but he could be on the move this summer with the need to balance the books.

The Red Devils could face direct competition from Tottenham Hotspur for the player's services with manager Jose Mourinho said to be a long-time admirer.

The north London side are keen on adding a new centre-back to their ranks after the recent departure of Jan Vertonghen on a free transfer to Benfica.
