Arsenal end interest in Thomas Partey?

Arsenal end Partey interest?

Arsenal are reported to have ended their pursuit of Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey due to the transfer fees and wages involved.

The Ghana international has been fancied to join the Gunners in recent months and they recently failed with a part-exchange deal to sign him involving Matteo Guendouzi.

Atleti have made it clear that they won't sanction his sale for anything less than his £45m release clause and Sport claims that the north London side are unlikely to meet the figure.

On top of this, Partey is said to demand nearly three times of his current £65,000-a-salary, and the club are not in a position to meet the wage demands.

Hence, Mikel Arteta's side are likely to look elsewhere to bolster the midfield and reports claim that they could target AS Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara.

The Giallorossi are keen on landing the signature of Lucas Torreira this summer and they could accept a straight-cash deal involving the Guinea international.
