Arsenal finally sign Brazilian defender

Arsenal have finally wrapped up the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes from French side Lille.

The Brazilian has signed a five-year contract with the Gunners worth £80,000-a-week and he will wear the number six shirt next season.

The north London side faced plenty of competition to land the defender, but a personal chat with Mikel Arteta convinced him to join them.

Gabriel becomes the club's second major signing of the summer transfer window after the arrival of Willian on a free transfer.

The Gunners are likely to see multiple changes to the squad over the next few weeks with Mikel Arteta planning to bring in players of his own.

Dani Ceballos look set to rejoin the club on another loan deal from Real Madrid. An announcement will be made in the next 24 hours.

The club are expected to pay a loan fee of around £3m while the salary of the player will be shared between both sides.
