Aston Villa table second bid for Arsenal goalkeeper

The impressive form of FA Cup winning goalkeeper Emi Martinez has captured the attentions of the Aston Villa scouting team, who have reportedly made their second transfer bid for Arsenal's goalkeeper. Ahead of the new season, it still remains unclear who will be the Gunners' number 1, with Bernd Leno set for a return after a lengthy lay off.
Arsenal rejected a bid from Villa last week for a reported £15 million, and the Villans have since returned with a new offer of £20 million which appears to be closer to the level that manager Mikel Arteta is willing to accept.
Arsenal fans are likely to be very disappointed though if Martinez has been told that he can leave, as the Argentinian goalkeeper is immensely popular with the squad as well as supporters and after a number of excellent performances at the end of the 2019-20 campaign, numerous calls for his promotion to take the number 1 jersey have captured the attention of reporters and even Arsenal's coaches alike.
Martinez is said to be willing to discuss a move elsewhere in search of regular first-team action.
