Chelsea midfielder confirms summer departure
England international Danny Drinkwater has confirmed that he will leave Chelsea during the ongoing transfer window.
The 30-year-old has made just 23 appearances for the Blues since his arrival from Leicester City in September 2017 and spent the previous season on loan with Burnley and Aston Villa.
In recent weeks, there has been the speculation that Drinkwater could be released from his Blues contract and he has now confirmed that he will be parting ways with the west London side.
"Back at Chelsea only for pre-season. Working hard, trying to get fit and in the best shape I can be for wherever I go next. As much as I would like to be settled at a club like I should be, the unknown is kinda exciting," He wrote on Instagram.
The Blues are planning for a number of player exits this summer. The club have recently loaned out Kenedy to Granada and the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Michy Batshuayi could also leave on temporary deals.
