Chelsea striker makes temporary switch to Crystal Palace
Cheslea striker Michy Batshuayi has made the temporary switch to Crystal Palace for the 2020/21 season after putting pen-to-paper on a one-year contract extension.
The Belgium international has only 10 months remaining on his previous Blues deal, but the lack of permanent transfer offers meant that the club decided to renew his stay for another year.
They have now sanctioned his return to the Eagles on a season-long loan and the south London outfit are reported to have the option to buy him at the end of the campaign.
Batshuayi spent the backend of the 2018/19 season on loan with Roy Hodgson's side and he made a good impression with six goals from 13 appearances in all competitions.
The 26-year-old has endured a tough time over the past few years where he has struggled for regular first-team football, but he now has the chance to establish himself with the Eagles, potentially for the long-term.
Batshuayi is expected to feature for the club in the Premier League opener against Southampton on Saturday afternoon. He will be aiming to make his first Premier League start of the year.
