Tottenham to sign Antonio Rudiger
Tottenham are on the verge of completing a loan transfer deal for Chelsea's defender Antonio Rudiger. The centre-back, who has slipped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge after a number of high-profile defensive errors, is set for a temporary move to White Hart Lane.
It is understood that Rudiger is Spurs's second preferred option after a deal fail through to sign Slovakian star Milan Skriniar. Inter Milan demanded a reported 45 million euro transfer fee to allow the defender to leave the San Siro.
Rudiger, who has two years remaining on his contract with the Blues, could then stay at Tottenham for the forseeable future and Jose Mourinho's side have secured first option on a permanent deal, worth an estimated £30 million.
The deal will arrive as one of the surprise transfer dealings of the window, considering Chelsea were only linked with a move for Rudiger just last Friday for the first time.
Jose Mourinho is hoping to add at least two players to his squad before the transfer window slams shut this evening at 23:00 BST.
