Houllier linked with Hamburg
Houllier linked with Hamburg
Former Liverpool coach Gerard Houllier has been linked with a move to Bundesliga side Hamburg during the summer. Huub Stevens is set to quit the club at the end of this season.
Houllier has managed Lyon previously and has been out of the management scene for sometime. Earlier in the season he was interviewed with regard to the Newcastle job; but Kevin Keegan was given the role instead.
HSV have apparently already contacted Houllier with regard to taking the job; but the Frenchman initially rejected.
It seems though that Hamburg will attempt to lure Houllier to the club one more time, according to German source Bild.
Houllier is probably more likely to accept the role if Hamburg are able to secure Champions League football for next season.
