Chelsea left-back Emerson has acknowledged that he is discontent with the lack of playing time under manager Frank Lampard this term.

The Italian is currently the third-choice left-back in the Blues' ranks with new signing Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso ahead of him in the pecking order.

He was constantly linked with a return to the Serie A earlier this summer, but a deal failed to materialise with the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus put off by the £25m price tag.

Italy boss Roberto Mancini recently expressed his frustration over Emerson's club status and the left-back has now admitted that he is unhappy with his current situation with the Blues.

"When I arrive here I change my head, I feel important and part of the group. At Chelsea, things are not going as I wish in this part of the season. I just have to work," He told.

Emerson has less than two years remaining on his Blues contract. The transfer windows are still open in Russia and Portugal, but the Italian may wait until January to push for a Serie A return.
