Manchester United quartet out of West Brom clash

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that as many as four players could be unavailable for the Premier League clash against West Bromwich Albion.

Phil Jones (knee) and Jesse Lingard (unknown) have been long-term absentees and they are unlikely to return on Saturday alongside Luke Shaw, who picked up a hamstring injury at Everton before the international break.

Elsewhere, the United boss revealed that Mason Greenwood has returned to training after an illness, but he won't be fit enough to face the Baggies at Old Trafford this weekend.

Apart from the quartet, Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof are fitness doubts as they are nursing shoulder and back problems, but they are likely to make the matchday squad.

United have endured a tough start to the 2020/21 Premier League campaign and they are currently 14th on the table with just 10 points after seven matches.

They are presently eight points behind leaders Leicester City with a game in hand. They will be looking to end their six-game winless streak at Old Trafford this weekend.
