Newcastle United want to sign Manchester United left-back
Newcastle United are reportedly looking at the possibility of signing Brandon Williams on a temporary deal from Manchester United.
The 20-year-old has been limited to just five appearances this term with Luke Shaw and summer signing Alex Telles ahead of him in the selection order for the left-back role.
As a result, he has been touted to head out on a short-term loan for first-team experience and ChronicleLive claims that the Magpies are monitoring his situation.
Magpies boss Steve Bruce has a close and personal relationship with Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and that could boost the club's prospects of signing Williams.
Williams made his breakthrough with the Red Devils last term as he benefitted from Luke Shaw injury concerns. He ended up making 40 appearances, contributing one goal and three assists.
Shaw is currently on the sidelines with a fresh hamstring problem, but Wiliams has not been able to fully capitalise due to the presence of Telles. The Brazilian has been a regular since recovering from the coronavirus.
